i remember the first time i saw the picture of mont st. michel. it was in a childcraft book and i was immediately hooked. i thought that it was the most beautiful place i have ever seen in my life and i vowed to myself that one day... i would be able to climb its cobblestoned streets, gallop along the wide stretch of shore that surrounded it (on a black horse) and admire its majesty from within and outside its walls. i was ten.

now, my wish has been fulfilled, and i was able to visit this wonderful site... sans black horse- but it was wonderful nonetheless.

thank you very much to geraldine (liszy's sponsor and our amazonian friend) for inviting us to spend an unforgettable weekend in pontorson, normandie. thank you also to her uber-nice family- maman, papa, caroline, charles, et maya- for welcoming us into their home, regardless of the language and cultural differences. and thank you to her great friends- guigui, parrain, eric, claire, and pierre-emmanuel- for welcoming us into their group and sharing a fabulous night of conversations, laughter, singing, dancing, et bien sur, drinking.
